Can you work from a photo?

Yes, I work from photos, the clearer the better. There is more information on choosing good photos in the commissions section.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, but prices and delivery times vary, so please contact me and I can research this for you. Also, there may be customs charges to take into consideration.

What medium do you work in?

I use 100% colour pencil, on Clairefontaine pastelmat as my preferred surface. I only use pencils with the highest possible lightfastness ratings. My favourites are Caran D'Ache Luminance and Derwent Lightfast, and I also use a selection of Faber Castell Albrecht Durer (not all in the Albrecht Durer range are lightfast).

How long does it take to do a commission piece?

Colour pencil is a slow medium to work in, and over the years instead of getting quicker, I've found that my attention to detail and my ability to render that detail has improved. This means that it still takes me upto 35 hours, over a week or so, per cat at A4 size. A larger piece with a full and detailed background would easily take upwards of 80 hours.

Do the commission portraits come framed?

No, the price is for the drawing only. I have a selection of mounts which may be suitable, though remember a mounted picture will cost more to post.

Can a commission portrait be framed?

This can be arranged for UK orders only.

Can I have a discount if I order more than one portrait?

Unfortunately not, there are no shortcuts for me when drawing separate portraits. Savings can be made on the postage or by ordering a multiple portrait.
